Heavy duty elevator expansion bolt, yellow zinc carbon steel, M12 to M20. Long threaded stud for guide rail and heavy equipment bases.
The elevator expansion bolt is a long threaded stud anchor used to fix elevator guide rails, hoistway brackets and heavy equipment to concrete. The stud carries an expansion clip at the embedded end; as the nut is tightened the clip expands against the hole wall, and the long exposed thread takes the rail bracket, washer and lock nut at whatever standoff the installation needs. Sizes run M12 to M20 with lengths from 100 mm to 400 mm, and the stud is cut to length against the bracket stack up. Body material is carbon steel with yellow zinc plating; stainless and hot dip galvanized versions are produced for damp shafts and outdoor plant.

What to note during installation?
Correct drill hole diameter
The drill bit size must match the bolt sleeve. An oversized hole causes loose fixing, while an undersized hole prevents insertion.

Sufficient hole depth
The drilled hole should be slightly deeper than the sleeve length to ensure the sleeve fully expands and bears load.

Thorough hole cleaning
Blow out dust inside the hole before installation; residual dust will compromise anchoring performance.

Vertical mounting & proper tightening
Keep the bolt perpendicular to the base surface. Tighten the nut gradually to the specified torque so the sleeve expands fully against the hole wall.

Do not force installation on friable walls
Lightweight blocks, hollow walls and porous substrates are not suitable for direct load-bearing fixing with this type of expansion anchor.
