Our DIN 975 continuous thread rod is manufactured from low-carbon steel and certified to ISO 898-1 for strength class 4.8. Black oxide chemical conversion treatment delivers a smooth matte black surface, minimising light reflection for visible interior installations. This finish is selected primarily for aesthetic purposes rather than heavy corrosion protection.
This fastener is engineered for static light and medium load applications within permanently dry indoor spaces. It gains its mechanical properties through cold forming and requires no quenched and tempered heat treatment. We maintain stock lengths of 1000 mm and 3000 mm. Bespoke cutting, deburring and thread re-chasing can be arranged to match site requirements. Black touch-up paint is supplied with every shipment for on-site cut-end restoration.

Engineering Notes
1.Corrosion limitation Black oxide provides only minimal rust resistance. Not suitable for outdoor locations, plant rooms with condensation or consistently humid environments. Rust will form if exposed to moisture.
2.Assembly visual recommendation Mechanically, zinc-plated nuts can mate with this threaded rod. However, colour mismatch will be visible at every joint. For uniform visual effect, specify matched black oxide nuts as a complete assembly set.
3.Load classification reminder Grade 4.8 is designated for light/medium static loads. It is not a high tensile alternative to grade 8.8 threaded rod. Surface black coating will not increase or reduce the rod's load capacity.
